POWER BI and Cegid: Consolidate Retail and HR in One Click
Your Cegid system already holds everything you need to make decisions — you just have to make it talk. Whether you manage a network of stores with Cegid Retail (Y2) or finance and payroll with Cegid XRP, the information is there — just scattered across stores, fiscal years and departments. This course teaches you how to connect Power BI directly to your Cegid database and turn that raw material into clear, consolidated and actionable dashboards — from network revenue all the way to payroll costs, in a single click.
The approach is hands-on and grounded in the Tunisian context. You start with the fundamentals: understanding where your data lives in Cegid (SQL Server), connecting to it cleanly, cleaning and modeling with Power Query, then laying out your first indicators in DAX. You then apply these reflexes to your two worlds. On the Retailside, you build the consolidated multi-store view: revenue per m², average basket, conversion rate, network inventory and replenishment, customer segmentation and loyalty. On the HR & Payrollside, you turn Cegid data into a workforce management tool: payroll cost trends, variances, overtime and charges, absenteeism, turnover and social reporting.
By the end of the program, you walk away with your own Cegid dashboards, published and viewable on your smartphone in real time, wherever you are. You'll know how to refresh your data automatically, share your reports securely and evolve your models without depending on anyone. Your Cegid data will no longer serve only to print sales receipts and pay slips: it will become the dashboard that lights the way to your company's future.
What You Walk Away With
This course doesn't stop at theory: you walk away with ready-to-use deliverables for your business.
Your operational dashboards — a multi-store Retail cockpit and an HR & Payroll cockpit, connected to your real Cegid database.
Management on the go — your indicators on your smartphone, refreshed in real time, viewable anywhere.
A library of DAX measures — the key reusable Retail and HR calculations, ready to adapt to your needs.
Complete autonomy — connection, automatic refresh and secure sharing, so you never again depend on a weekly report.
Program — 12 sessions of 1 hour
The course starts from the Power BI fundamentals and connecting to your Cegid database, then specializes in your two worlds — multi-store Retail and HR & Payroll — before publishing, securing and automating everything. Every session is built on real Cegid data.
Module 1 — Fundamentals & connecting to Cegid (sessions 1-4)
1. Power BI & the Cegid ecosystem — Desktop, Service and the mobile app; where your data lives in Cegid Retail (Y2) and Cegid XRP, and what BI can draw from it.
2. Connecting to the Cegid database (SQL Server) — SQL Server connector, Import and DirectQuery modes, identifying the key tables for sales, inventory, third parties and payroll.
3. Clean & prepare with Power Query — merge sources, set data types, deduplicate and make the data from Cegid reliable before analysis.
4. Data model & first DAX measures — star schema, date table, relationships, and the basics of DAX (measures, aggregates, filter context).
Module 2 — Multi-store Retail cockpit (sessions 5-7)
5. Network performance — consolidate all points of sale: revenue, revenue per m², average basket, conversion rate and store ranking.
6. Network inventory management — overall stock visibility, turnover, stockouts and support for replenishment and inter-store transfers.
7. Customer behavior & loyalty — purchase frequency, dynamic segmentation and loyalty analysis based on Cegid Retail data.
Module 3 — HR & Payroll cockpit (sessions 8-10)
8. Payroll costs & spending — payroll cost trends, variance analysis, the impact of overtime, bonuses and social charges.
9. Absenteeism & turnover — absenteeism rate, staff turnover, identifying at-risk departments and periods to plan ahead.
10. Social reporting & workforce planning — from automated social reporting to skills mapping and tracking training plans.
Module 4 — Publish, secure & automate (sessions 11-12)
11. Publishing, mobile & secure sharing — publish to Power BI Service, view on smartphone, manage access and the confidentiality of sensitive data (payroll).
12. Automatic refresh & maintenance — data gateway, scheduled refresh and best practices for keeping your dashboards alive on your own.
